Dr. Oliver Ezechi is a trained Obstetrician Gynaecologist and Deputy Director Research at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research Lagos where he has made significant contributions in strengthening the quality of care and research in maternal, sexual and reproductive health and right including HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
Dr. Ezechi received a degree in Medicine and Surgery degree from the University of University of Benin, Nigeria in 1991. He began his career as a resident doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ile Ife, Nigeria in 1995.
Dr. Ezechi joined Nigerian Institute of Medical Research Lagos in 2004 from the prestigious Havana Specialist Hospital Lagos where he was a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for 5 years. He received both the West African and National Postgraduate Medical College specialists’ qualifications (FWACS & FMCOG) in 1999 and 2000 respectively. He also held a Master’s degree in Public administration (OAU Ile Ife 1998) and Ph.D. from Lund University in Medical Sciences (2011-2014). Dr. Ezechi is Examiner of the National postgraduate medical college in faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and external Examiners to a number of national and International Universities.
