New mom! welcome to this whole new world. Here are 10 quick tips to help you and your baby throughout pregnancy stay healthy,  happy, and saner.

Tip 1 

Eating whole, healthy foods and plenty of protein. This will help boost your sugar and energy level. During pregnancy, it is important to maintain a very healthy diet because your body needs additional nutrients, vitamins and minerals. A diet lacking in key nutrients may negatively affect your baby’s development. Read more.

Tip  2 

Keep yourself hydrated. Plain water is great. During pregnancy, blood volume increases by up to 1.5 litres or about 50 ounces. Therefore, it’s important to stay properly hydrated. Your fetus usually gets everything it needs, but if you don’t watch your water intake, you may become dehydrated. Drinking water is important as your blood volume increases during pregnancy. Adequate hydration may also help prevent constipation and urinary tract infections. Read more.

Get plenty of rest, Take breaks as frequently as you can.

Stay confident in your body! Look for positive information about birth and pregnancy, also stay stylish and classy.

Always stay in close touch with a midwife, nurse or doctor.

Learn to care as much as you can on the baby growing inside of you. Pregnancy care consists of two stages; prenatal (before birth) and postpartum (after birth) healthcare for expectant mothers. Exercise regularly. This is part of a healthy lifestyle and is recommended for most pregnant women with uncomplicated pregnancies. It is important to review all medications, whether prescription or over-the-counter (OTC), with your health-care professional if you are planning to become pregnant. Read more.

Limit caffeine and avoid alcohol.

Take folic acid daily. Folic acid is a pregnancy superhero! Taking a prenatal vitamin with the recommended 400 micrograms (mcg) of folic acid before and during pregnancy can help prevent birth defects of your baby’s brain and spinal cord.
