Hello Rosemary, in addition to the beautiful comments already given, babies not getting adequate breastfeeding also tend to suck their finger. Which finger is the baby sucking? Sucking the thumb is different from sucking the rest of the fingers.

My 8months baby too is sucking d second finger,i av try 2 stop him, anytym, i do dat, he wil cry til i put it back 2 his mouth
