Prof. Emmanuel Oladipo Otolorin, the pioneer Chief Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, is a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology formerly at the University of Ibadan. Presently, he is the Nigeria Country Director of Jhpiego Corporation, which is an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He has over thirty years experience in health care delivery, including over 20 years consulting and/or full-time experience in international health development. He has provided Reproductive Health, Maternal and Newborn Health and HIV/AIDS technical assistance to many developing countries in sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and Asia as well as Local, State and Federal Government agencies in Nigeria. He was the Chief of Party for the USAID-funded ACCESS and MCHIP projects implemented in Northern Nigeria between 2007-2012 focused on reducing maternal and newborn mortality in the region.
