We can't say for certain if a child with CP will walk or not. We can only observe and follow up the child. If the child keeps making progress in terms of the motor milestones at each visit, the hope is high but if remaining same for long without any significant progress, the chances are low. Professionals usually do what we call Gross Motor Function Classification System... The level of the child also helps to give a prognosis of walking.... Children on GMFCS 1-3 have mild - moderate CP and more likely to walk with or without walking aids while children GMFCS stage 4-5 have severe CP and more likely not to walk independently but can be ambulant via wheelchair - manual or motorized
