Yes, Jadelle implant insertion can cause Irregular menstruation and/or spotting, especially in the first 6-12 months, but there is no need to worry. Jadelle is a contraceptive implant that is used for the prevention of pregnancy. It consists of 2 small rods that are inserted into your arm. Jadelle® (levonorgestrel implants are indicated for the prevention of pregnancy and are a long-term (up to 5 years) reversible method of contraception. No need to fear, the rods are so small that most people can not even see them once they are inserted- which means it is your business-your little secret if you want to keep it so. You can have your implants removed anytime you so wish by a healthcare provider but remember that The implant does not prevent against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) or HIV/AIDS.
