Please do not force feed your child!
Your son may have what we can gastroesophageal reflux, just a jargon that says food return from the stomach to the oesophagus after feed instead of staying down. For such babies, you need to keep them upright for up to 30 minutes or more after each feed so it stays down. You can keep them in the car seat put in upright position if you are too tired or busy to carry them that long others can help too sometimes that may not work and some babies need to have their feeds thickened and so on but we will do that only if it so bad and not allowing baby to gain weight please see your paediatricians for further management at that point.
It’s called reflux, to reduce reflux try and keep the baby upright for 15 - 30 minutes after feeds before putting the baby down flat.
Please kindly give your baby ORS and take to the nearest hospital.
When a child is vomiting, you cannot stop the vomiting if it has already started. Let the vomiting stop then clean up and wash the face and rinse the mouth. But you can only attempt to stop the vomiting if the child is feeling like or retching as if he's about to vomit. Some blow on the child or sprinkle water which may stop the retching from going to complete process of vomiting temporarily but most will still vomit anyway as long as the cause of the vomiting is not attended to.
The most important thing is to take the child to see a doctor for the underlying cause of the vomiting to be addressed.

Please see a doctor, medications can be prescribed to help.
Please note that cough syrups are not to be given to children because they cannot expectorate and most cold and catarrh do not require medication. Most cold and cough both in children and adults are caused by viruses which will run their course with or without any medication.
