Can a breastfeeding mom take Atorvastatin 10mg I have a one-year-old son who is still breastfeeding. I was recently ill and from checking my blood pressure was high But it's been reducing gradually but the diastolic pressure doesn't seem to go down. From some labs, it seems my cholesterol level was high and I was given atorvastatin 10 mg to take once every day But when I read e leaflet and researched it said it was not suitable for breastfeeding mothers. I want to ask if I should stop taking it
Kindly ask the doctors who prescribed the medications on the best option ma.
Some anti-hypertensive medications can affect lactation (breastmilk production )
You should see your physician for better options as a breastfeeding mother
