If the hardness is painless, it's Braxton Hicks contractions which is normal. But if painful, either regular or irregular, see your doctor. As for the taping, it's your baby's kick which is very normal.

The tapping should be the baby's kicks and the hardness could be Braxton hicks, but if the pain gets unbearable kindly inform your doctor
