Was the pcv a random check or not? Most times, doctors do not base their clinical judgement on results, results are just to back up the diagnosis. If your baby isn't found to be clinically pale, you don't have to worry, the medications will do. Just make sure you do your part by feeding the baby very well. He or she will be fine.
