My 2 years old daughter is running temperature and also has catarrh. What can I give her?
Please ensure you check the temperature with a thermometer first for more accurate readings.
36.5 - 37.5 degrees is normal
37.6 - 37.9 is a bit high but can be managed with a tepid sponge (put a cloth in a bowl of room temperature water and use the wet cloth to damp the child's body)
38 and above, please go to the hospital immediately.
Please also ensure a pediatrician or specialist prescribes the medications and not across counter purchases as some might not be age appropriate
Tepid sponging helps. Also minimize her exposure to fan and cold. If it persists after a few days, take her to the hospital.
Kindly use a digital thermometer to check your baby's temperature. Normal temperature ranges between 36.5-37.5. If it exceeds this range persistently, please tepid sponge the child with lukewarm water and be on your way to the hospital for doctors to do a check. Preferably see a pediatrician in a teaching hospital for proper evaluation and management.
