@Phatimah12205, you can suffocate ur baby. What if you fall asleep while breastfeeding her and ur breast rest on her nose?

Hello Mary, it's a touchy question. In some culture it's even a taboo. We are all correct, you can breastfeed while lying down. You are not a machine, mothers can get tired too. But you need to be extra vigilant, support the baby's head with pillow to avoid aspiration as pointed out by @Queen in case baby regurgitates. You may fall asleep and the weight of your breast covers baby's nose leading to suffocation. These things happen. So, have someone around, if you feeling sleepy, stop. Cheers.

Yes, you can but be very careful and vigilant. Many doctors and nurses kick against it cos of some mothers carelessness. It could lead to suffocation of the baby where by the mother's breast covering the baby's nose and stopping the baby from breathing well. My advice is for you to be careful and vigilant

I gave birth to my little girl through CS so I do lay down to breast feed her nd dat was a day after delivery but wit a very soft pillow under her head, d nurses would set d pillow nd lay her down beside me to breast feed her den I would patt her on her bck for d food to settle down.

You can pls, what if the mother is tired or has severe pains, even in the hospital,if a woman gives birth and can only lie down, the nurses would bring the child to her on the bed for her to breastfeed while lying down, well, everyone with there own.

@Phatimah12205, ur child comfort matters allot, your baby needs to belch after eating if he doesn't in the process of luring down he might throw up and the milk will goes to his head, which is bad, and it makes some baby to have this milk coming out of their ear. Just goggle it for more info. They do warn mothers when you go for ante natal not to give breast while luring down.
