Lanark Specialist Hospital formerly known as "Lanark Specialist Hospital & Yosi Sekoni Maternity" was founded over 34 years ago by Dr. George Ajibola Sekoni and his wife, Mrs. Christiana Ibiyosi Sekoni, a Nurse and Midwife by profession.
The name Lanark comes from the region in Scotland where George Ajibola trained to become a Medical Doctor, attending the University of Glasgow. Christiana practiced Nursing in the same area.
