I will like to know the milestone of preterm babies are different I.e slower than termed babies
You will be subtracting the number of weeks before the due date from the baby's CHRONOLOGICAL AGE to get the CORRECTED AGE. This is usually done until the child is 2 years at which point we expect the child to have caught up completely from the prematurity" So, USE THE DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONES WITH THE CORRECTED AGE.....SAME MILESTONES BUT SEE YOUR BABY FROM THE CORRECTED AGE NOT THE CHRONOLOGICAL AGE
what are the causes of preterm babies?
Their are many causes of premature birth. ANY RISK FACTORS OR HIGH RISK PREGNANCIES CAN RESULT IN PRETERM DELIVERY.
It's very important that pregnancies with high risk factors are managed and closely followed up by the specialists obstetricians.
Other contributing factors are too young (below 18), too old (above 35), hypertension, diabetes, heart or kidney problems in mother, infection, leakage of amniotic fluid, infections like vaginitis, incompetent cervix, sudden accidents (trauma), bleeding in the placenta, if their are problems with the baby in the womb e.t.c
I just had a preterm baby of 35weeks, I'm a second-time mom. how do I care for her at home? thanks

For feeding, most of the preterm babies won’t be able to suckle continuously, hence feeding will be via cup and spoon and baby is put to breast at least once or twice a day. As the baby gains more weight, and the doctors are now comfortable allowing baby to suckle continuously, mothers will be informed.
Are preterm babies slow in activities? If yes at how many months should start showing activities. I'm on Ebf.

The majority of premature babies have normal physical and motor development. Prematurely born children do tend to be shorter and lighter than full-term peers. If these babies were very sick, it can sometimes affect their growth up until at least 12 years old. But others catch up during the preschool and school years. So, no worries
