I just had a preterm baby of 35weeks, I'm a second-time mom. how do I care for her at home? thanks
Pls dey r prone to Infection, dont just let anybody carry d baby until fitted, always use sanitizer and ensure u wash all d miss of feeding regularly with hot water, pls do cover d baby all d tym, do Express breastmilk out for feeding, ensure mother eat healthy food to boost baby red blood cell, follic acid and iron drug was prescrib doing my own.
The reason for this is when they are still small, all the weight gained is lost during the process of sucking as they expend so much energy.
They are fed every 2 hours, increasing the quantity of feeds gradually as they grow. Proper hand washing and hygiene is required as feeding is a major source of infection for these children if hygiene practices are not strictly adhered to

For feeding, most of the preterm babies won’t be able to suckle continuously, hence feeding will be via cup and spoon and baby is put to breast at least once or twice a day. As the baby gains more weight, and the doctors are now comfortable allowing baby to suckle continuously, mothers will be informed.
