Sickle Cell anaemia cannot be cured but it can be managed especially when detected early in life.

In some children with Sickle Cell anaemia the HbF levels may remain persistently high and thats why it is written as HbSF. However such a child is still SS (Sickle cell anaemia) but with high levels of HbF. It is a good thing though as such children are more protected against crisis and other complications of Sickle cell anaemia
