Initially, she will cry but gradually she ll get use to it. Learning is a process, mine started at 3 months, now she can sit and raise her head, she all be 4 month next tomorrow

I think 4months was a bit late. Keep trying and be rubbing her back, also find something that is attractive or a nursery rhyme. Crying will not kill her.
