@sweetmum, Firstly, yes women are most times advised to give 6 weeks until they start having sex after delivery. Or as the mood comes after 6 weeks, this is to give time for your body to heal. Also many women breastfeed, so there may be absence of menstrual period because the brain is still getting the message, that you are breastfeeding. But, there's a tendency to ovulate and likely get pregnant even while still breastfeeding. Breast feeding is a form of family planning but it is not very trusted. That's why many women get pregnant. So if you are thinking of resuming sex, be it after 6 weeks or at 3 months, you should consider the appropriate family planning that will suit you well.
