Please my baby is 5 weeks old and one of his nipple is swollen and reddish and its hot when you touch it. He is not running temperature but crys alot

I had d Same issue wit my baby n I took her 2 d doctor. I was told not 2 press n 2 buy zinnat 4 her which is 2 b taken once per day according 2 d measurement on d drugs instruction 4 7days. Hello Omalicha, as Tessy said, it is due to exposure to maternal hormones while in the womb. The same hormones responsible for the female breast. It will go down with time. Don't press, touch or pinch, it will only irritate your baby more. Since there is no fever, I would say nothing to worry about, however as other comments have noted, always better to have a doctor look at it. Cheers.

I just joined you in prayers. It will end in praise. Some children have seeds on their breast for almost a year and later it disappears on its own. For my daughter I was advised not to press, massage, or use anything on it that it will go away on its own, which it did. This post just reminded me now of how worried I was. So don't press, Massage etc it will melt off. It is caused by some homonial connection from the you the mum. So don't fret just see his doctor, all is well IN JESUS'.
