My baby is 2months today. I will resume work next week. And I cannot go to work with him. I want to try expressing breast milk. How do I preserve it please and incase the breast milk is not enough which baby milk can I introduce to him. Because my house is far from the office and I have to stay up to 2 pm before going back home.
I'm also doing EBF and storing BM, started 3 days after my baby was born and I now have a reservoir of milk and he's not even 1 month old. The thing with breast feeding is that it is all in your mind - you need to be committed and prepared. I don't eat anything extra, just make sure I'm well hydrated with water. All the best mum, you can do it.

Breast milk production is as a result of sucking - baby, spouse or pump. Some the more sucking the more breast milk produced. As it is you feed your baby on demand, so when he's not feeding, you can pump and store. It will take a few days for this to be well established. Breast milk should be stored in the freezer (last 4-6months), taken out when it wants to be used. It should thaw (defrost) itself, keep in the fridge (not fridge door). The milk must be consumed within 24hrs. When feeding, only take the quantity the baby can consume and warm in hot water (don't microwave). Never shake breastmilk rather you swirl it to mix. Warmed unfinished milk should be discarded.
