@Adechayil, good morning madam please do what you can for your baby please I really feel for your baby see the tommy looks swollen I hope air has not entered thru the navel already please always make sure the navel is not exposed please he won't sleep at night because of the pains in the tommy abeg don't be careless about your baby I pray God see you and baby thru this.

@Adechayil, is well oo madam haba how can you bath a baby with cold water what kind of tradition is that haba my baby navel fell off on the 7th day after the mama bathing her always press with hot water &clean with spirit after it fell the navel is press day and night with good hot water and methelator is applied round & on top and covered with pampers so air won't enter you are the mother that went thru pain having that child why allow tradition cause something else for your child is well

Just make sure there are no blood vessels on it else d child will bleed.thats y the doc or a nurse has to see the place first. Bf d stone is use on it. As ur rubbing it u will see it will Chang colour then is shrinking. U can stop n continue d next day.for me d was no need after day one, it became normal

My dear is a blue a chemicalised stone that is use to corode d umbilical cord that didn't fall off completely. But must be done by a doc or a train personal. The doc did it once in front of me n told me by d next day it will shrink. N I need to repeat it again. But care must be taken not to allow it come in contact with d skin. It was just on d growth. By d next day I had no need for a second touch cos it had closed up. N I was relieved. Trust me I knw how u feel das how worried I was.

Hmmmm .This happened to my baby girl. N the doc advice me clean it with spirit . until dat pikinish area clears off.the pikinish stuff is blood vessel. D blood vessel need to clear of bf using a blue stone to rub on it gradually. As am talking to u now nothing is there. Everything is sealed.

@Dmitria28310 sacred heart hospital Abeokuta is a teaching hospital ,that's where I took him to that the doctor only advise to use just cotton wool and spirit.

Hmmmmmm my dear culture difference in Igbo land once the baby is born and u are back from hospital ur mother will be the one to bath ur baby with hot water special on the neval morning and night after bath u apply baby rub on it anytime u changes baby diaper....

@Amaka25153, thank you ma, but they don't use hot water to bath in their dad family , I use cold water to bath Jim and miss little hot eater because of the current weather. I have been using lantern like you said with spirit but when I noticed the belly button is closed but that pinkish something is on it, in was worried and then doctor said I shouldn't have use spirit with the lanterm

Use lantern and place little towel on top when it hot use it touch the navel,note don't allow water to enter the navel because it has hole but you don't know, and always keep the navel dry

Pls always use hot water on it whenever u bath him and apply baby rub on it..also don't allow baby diaper to touch it....
