Humm, my own ask too but thank God he ask his son, so my hand no dey. My advice is he to pay her, is better, u are to give gift like wrapper

Haaaaaa mother in-law of nowadays..... Lol you need to be paid to take care of your grandchild? I feel it should come without her asking except if you people are not taking care of her as you should. I don't know, but it just sound wired asking to be paid for taking care of your grand child. Personal opinion though.

I'll advice you let ur hubby give her since she asked for it because if you employed a nanny for the job you will definitely pay her and still nurse some fear in a way. But MIL is family, she will take care of her better. You should also get her gift occasionally as a way of saying thank you. My 2 cent
