MOST bleeding in the first
week of life is DUE TO VITAMIN K
DEFICIENCY. PLS ALL BABIES MUST
RECEIVE AN INJECTION OF VITAMIN K
AFTER BIRTH. PLS ASK IF YOUR BABY
WAS GIVEN VIT K AND IF NO, PLS GO TO
HOSPITAL TO GET THE VIT K. It should
be sufficient to stop the bleeding. bleeding
can also be due to other issues like injury to
the cord, infection of the cord or inherited
bleeding disorders. Please see a doctor if
a your baby is till spotting blood from the
cord despite being given Vitamin K
injection. THIS IS IMPORTANT, BABY'S
BLOOD VOLUME IS SMALL AND IS LESS
THAN A WHOLE BOTTLE OF COKE (35CL)
AND THEY CAN EASILY LOSE ALL. ALL
BLEEDING SHOULD BE CHECKED AT THE
HOSPITAL TO BE SURE ALL IS WELL.
