I had preterm baby too @28weeks as my 1st child thou he survived with the Grace of God (traumatic experience) . I nurse the fear during my 2nd preg too but my doctor tried to rule out all possible causes, did HVS to rule out infection then and also was doing transvaginal scan at every interval to measure the cervix length to know if cervical cercalage is necessary. He eventually treated me for infection because of the result and no cercalage was needed. And baby came smoothly at 40weeks exact predicted edd.
