To be clear, Most babies naturally will have their head-down position by the end of the final trimester, sometimes even before. But If your baby doesn't and he/she stays in the transverse lie position, your doctor or health professional may offer to turn your baby by hand after 36 weeks. This procedure is called external cephalic version (ECV)
