400mcg daily is recommended but in Nigeria we have 5mg presentation which is more than d recommended dose but still okay and better in case of ppl with history of neural tube defect. Yes, u can take multivitamins.

Sorry for ur loss, wait till u see ur period again and start trying for a new baby then start taking folic acid tablet daily to help prepare ur uterus for conception and it also prevents neural tube defects! All d best!
