Is Paracetamol and Lonart safe for a 4week pregnancy I went to a hospital in Abuja today and the doctor seeing me did not wait for my test result before I got back a new younger doctor was there. My result was positive for pregnancy and malaria. He prescribed Lonart. I just read through the contra indications and realised it is not safe for first trimester. My last period was 5TH July 2018, had sex on 14th July so I'm less than 4weeks. Sure it will not be safe to go ahead with the lonart. I'm having slight fever and slight headache only when I climb staircase. What alternative medicine can I take. I'm being careful, Please I had a miscarriage like two months ago yet I did not have malaria in my system as at that time. Thank you
The best you can take for your pregnancy stage is the blue emzor paracetamol.it will reduce the headache
You've done well by checking the prescription and it's a lesson for all of us. According to Dr Fabusuyi, Lonart is not safe in the first trimester (ie first 13 weeks of pregnancy) as it will adversely affect the developing baby but it's safe afterwards.
