You will have to watch the child since the stool is not hard. If it persists please take him to see a paediatrician for proper evaluation and management so as to rule out other issues.All the best mom.

If your baby is on exclusive breastfeeding, there is no need to worry!
Babies on exclusive breastfeeding may not pass stools for days Even up to 2 weeks and as long as the stools are normal there is nothing to worry about.
If on formula or mixed feeding, ensure you give plain water after the formula feeds.
The straining is nothing to worry about as long as the stools are normal stools... Not hard and not watery!
