Just try to use the appropriate size of toothpaste then their will be no fear.

As much as possible, avoid children swallowing toothpaste. That is why the dentist recommend only a pea-size for brushing. That way even when they swallow, the risk is less. I know some kids make it habit to lick toothpaste even when they are not brushing, that must be discouraged as well.
