Sorry about your experience. Pains on your nipple is mostly due to poor breastfeeding positions while feeding your baby. Always make sure your baby's nipple is directed into his mouth. He/she should be feeding from the tip of the nipple and the mouth should be touching the areaola too i.e The dark circle surrounding your nipple
