Congenital abnormalities of the kidney and urinary tract e.g Renal dysplasia, posterior urethral valve, Vesicoureteric reflux etc are mostly caused as a result of
Hereditary diseases e.g Alport syndrome, polycystic kidney disease,
Recurrent urinary tract infections,
Glomerulonephritis(inflammation of the kidneys),
Nephrotic syndrome,
Renal stones,
Systemic diseases such as SLE(systemic lupus erythematosus etc. I strongly advise you seek advise from your doctor for next steps
